About Grace and Truth in Your Story

 

Grace and Truth in Your Story is a unique, interactive Bible study designed to help women experience healing, growth, and transformation through the integration of Biblical truth and sound psychological principles. Over the course of 9 months, participants will journey together through a curriculum rooted in the Beatitudes and the life of Jesus, discovering how to apply grace and truth to their own stories.

  • When: Sundays, 10:45 am – 12:30 pm

  • Dates: September 14, 2025 – May 17, 2026

  • Where: Southeast Christian Church, Blankenbaker Campus, Room 446

  • Format: In-person, small group and large group sessions

About the Instructors

Julie Gould, RN, M.A., LPCA
Julie is a registered nurse and licensed professional counselor associate. She has a passion for integrating faith and mental health, helping women find wholeness through Christ. Author of Grace and Truth in Your Story.

Tara Green, M.Ed., LMHC
Tara is a licensed mental health counselor and educator with a heart for walking alongside women in their spiritual and emotional journeys. She brings expertise in group facilitation and counseling. Contributing editor of Grace and Truth in Your Story.

Course Content

  • Biblical and Psychological Insights:
    Each lesson combines scriptural study with evidence-based psychological principles.

  • Personal Story Work:
    Reflect on your own life story, identify patterns, and invite God’s healing.

  • Create a Christ-centered community of women pursuing God’s best for their lives.

  • Demonstrate the Father’s love in authentic, practical ways.

  • Provide a non-judgmental space for honest self-exploration and growth.

  • Improve mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

  • Foster spiritual independence through exegetical (critical) study of the Bible.

  • Inspire a passion for inviting others into a transformative relationship with Jesus.

Communication

Materials Needed

  • Provided: Binder with 20 printed lessons

  • Bring: Journal or blank paper for personal notes and reflection

  • Bible (any translation you prefer)

  • Pen or pencil

Calendar

  • Weekly meetings: Sundays, 10:45 am – 12:30 pm

  • Holiday breaks: Dates will be announced in the first few weeks.

  • Cancellations: Announced via GroupMe.

Class Format

  • Opening: Prayer and brief review of previous week

  • Small Group Discussion: Reflect on last week’s assignment

  • Teaching: New lesson and practical application

  • Discussion: Additional small group sharing and prayer

  • Closing: Announcements and assignment for the week

  • Weekly reading and reflection questions

  • Occasional journaling or personal exercises

  • Assignments designed to help you apply what you’re learning to your own life

  • Schedule and assignments will be updated as needed and posted in GroupMe

Attendance & Commitment

  • Consistent attendance is vital for your growth and for group trust.

  • Please consider your schedule from September to May before joining.

  • If you need to withdraw, notify us as soon as possible so another woman can join.

A: No! All levels are welcome. We encourage questions and curiosity.

Q: Is counseling provided?
A: This is a Bible study group, not a therapy group, but both leaders are experienced in counseling and will provide referrals if needed.

Q: What if I have to miss a week?
A: Life happens! Let us know in advance if you’ll miss, and we’ll help you catch up.
